"Cannot open clipboard" error

Postby yigale » Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:27 pm

Hi,

When I try to use the auto-complete feature, on some sites I get "Cannot open clipboard" error.

For example, on this site it always happens: https://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/Hebrew/States/General/

Is this a known issue?

Hello,

what version of Password Depot are you using? (Help -> About)
Are you accessing the Auto-Complete function directly from an opened password list or from top bar mode? How do you proceed?
Which settings do have activated under Options -> Clipboard?

Best Regards,

I am using Password Depot 4.1.4, running on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I use the top bar "flashlight" icon for auto-complete. It copies the username, gives an error, and stops. If I then use drag/drop to drag the password from the top bar to the page, it does the copy, but still gives the same warning afterwards.

My clipboard settings are: Copy on selection from the menu, delete after 30 secs, and monitor alert on with outlook.exe as a trusted app.

Hello,

could you try to use the auto-complete function with Auto-complete method "Clipboard II"? You can set this option under Modify password -> Additional -> Auto-complete method -> Clipboard II

Does it work now?

Unfortunately some websites generally don`t allow copying data via clipbaoard for security reasons. Maybe this website has such options implemented, too.

Hi,

Clipboard II didn't work, but "keyboard" with the removal of the auto-enter at the end did the trick.

Thanks!
