Hi - I'm using WISE-FTP 5 - I am trying to download a zip file, size 64083831 bytes from a server directory - I am able to download all other files in the same directory, but this one failes with the message: 550 mtait/www/mydir/backup.zip: Access is denied.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?

Hello Mark!

Which version of Wise-FTP are you using exactly (Help -> About)? Are you using different users to upload or download files from / to your FTP-server? If yes, please try the one you used to upload this file.

Hi Marco.

It's version 5.5.0.

The username is the same as I've always used -and is the same for uploading/downloading all other files/directories on the server.

Hello Mark,

you are using an older version of Wise-FTP 5, please update it using the integrated Update Manager. Is it possible that the file you want to download is in use when you want to download it?

Hi - thanks for the suggestion - I purchased and upgraded to V6, but still get the same error:

< 550 /myserver/www/mywebsite/myzipfile.zip: Access is denied.

Are there any log files that I can look at which may provide a better explanation?

Hello Mark,

in your first post you wrote another file that you want to download than in your last post. Are there several files you cannot download? Is it possible that the files you want to download are in use by another person?

Have you already been able to download these files before? To make sure: you uploaded the file to the server and not someone else?

There is the ftp log which you probably already know as you copied the error message from there.
