Hi,
I am trying to add a password protected Excel File. In the URL/Local File File, I selected the excel file and set the Auto Complete Sequence
<pass><enter>. Now when I Click on Auto Completion,it opens Excel( not the file) and the promt to click on field for password or cancel. After I cance, the actual File opens without the password filled.

Any ideas?

What version of Password Depot are you using exactly? (See "Help" -> "About").
So when you open your excel file manually, you are NOT getting a promt for a password?

I am using version 2.6.1.0 .

When I open the file manually( with out using Password Depot), I get the password prompt and I type in the password and the file opens. No Issue there.

From within Password Depot, when I select the entry, and click on Autocomplete,it opens excel and the excel password pop-up comes up, but it does not automatically fill in the password. After I hit cancel, then password depot shows me the "Pasword Depot Auto complete mode" pop up.

Please notice, that the auto-complete-sequence can not just fill in the password all by itself. Normaly it works like this:

1.) You doubleklick at the desired password entry.

2.) Your webbrowser starts / or the local file opens.

3.) Password Depot goes into Top-Bar mode.

4.) You click on the yellow lightning "Auto-complete user and password"

5.) You select the first (or only) field for your auto-complete-sequence

6.) Password Depot will enter the Data according to your auto-complete-sequence.


But we see whats the problem here. When you doubleklick the password entry for your local excel file, Password Depot is not going into Top-Bar mode. It works with a normal .txt file, but not with .xls or .doc files. We have to talk to our developer team about this, maybe its a problem in password depot - maybe its a problem with MS Office products. We will contact you as soon as we get an answer.
