1- there is no way that I can find to remove an item from the quick connect list.
2- there is no Quick Connect "command" in the menus that works like the command described in the help file

3- The operation of MACROS? (or is it SCRIPTS? - "macros" is listed as a feature, but does not appear in the Help file) is flakey. Sometimes when recording the STOP button goes grey and will not come back until I exit from WISE-FTP. It is not clear what it takes to make the START button appear active. Sometimes it is greyed; sometimes normal. Changing to a different folder sometimes seems to make it active.

4- there is no documentation of what one can and cannot do with the macros (scripts?). Can I, for example, initiate a transfer of the newest file rather than of a named file? (I expect not, but something ought to say so). Can I use the macros (scripts?) to change the cwds?

Hello,

here are the answers to your questions:

1) and 2) - The prefered way to use 'Quick Connect' is the toolbar button
'Quick Connect' (this is the 3rd button in row), it has a dropdown menu with quick connection items and the command 'Manage...' which allows modifying the Quick Connect list of servers (add, delete, etc).

We will add similar menu items to the program's main menu in the nearest update. Thank you for your hint.

3) and 4) - We agree that the description of the scripting functionality must be improved in the program documentation and we are already working on this.

With respect to your question 'Can I, for example, initiate a transfer of the newest file rather than of a named file?'.
The scripting engine just records all actions made using the main menu/toolbar commands. Currently it can not evaluate complex expressions like comparing the dates of two files. For tasks like you
mentioned we would recommend you to try the commands "Transfer" ->
"Synchronization" -> "Synchronize Folders". That command allows
synchronization of local and remote folders taking into account dates of
files.
