Hi! Just bought the product after seeing it demonstrated at a seminar. I was under the impression that you could click on a password after setting it up and you would be brought to the webpage and be automatically logged in (with the initial one-click). I have set up a password, clicked/selected auto-complete sequence, and selected method "Clipboard I". Under options, I have the "Actions" clicked to auto-complete.

But, when I click on the password, it opens the web page but does not complete the user name and password. Did I get the wrong impression, or am I missing something. I suspect I've done something wrong, I'm not following it very well. I tried the step-by-step in the tutorial, but things aren't working the way it indicates it should.

I have version version3 Professional. Thanks in advance for your guidance to a "newbie".

Hello,

The auto-complete sequence can unfortunately not be done with one single click, but there are two steps necessary - you have to click the "auto-complete" button (the flash), which will open the website and as a next step you have to click in the first field, where to start the auto complete, this is normally the field for the user name. Otherwise, Password Depot doesn't know where to start completing fields.

The other steps you mentioned seem to be correct, but if there are further or other problems you are having, please do not hesitate to ask!

Best regards

Thanks for clearing up that misconception, it happened so fast in the demo I must have missed the second click. However, it still doesn't work for me. I click on the lightning bolt and then in the user name field after the website opens and nothing happens. Some message pops up from PD but goes away so fast I can't tell what it says.

I was finally able to freeze it by hitting "PrtScrn" and it's an instruction box for auto complete. If I am able to capture that message and click in the user field, it works fine. But I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have to be trying to capture it, I think it should be there without flashing away. What could be causing this?

Please note that auto complete can only work, when you enter a "auto complete sequence" first.

Maybe the video "Adding auto-complete sequences using wizard" on this page can help you: http://www.password-depot.com/tour/

Hello,

What we would ask you to try is to set the Drag & Drop delay (at Options/Actions) at a higher value. Maybe this can help.
What browser are you using as default? Is it Internet Explorer? If you have another browser installed (e.g. Firefox), please try the same with this one to see if this could be part of the problem.
And one last question: Does the auto complete work, when you uncheck the option "Go to Password URL first" (Options/Actions) and open the website by clicking the globe button and then the auto complete button?

Thanks and best regards

I use IE. If I click the globe button, it opens the correct webpage, but then when I click the lightning bolt for auto-complete it opens another window for the same website. If I select from the drop-down Password field in the top-bar and then click the lightning bolt, it seems to work fine, most of the time. Since it is so inconsistant, I have increase the delay as recommended.

-> is this although you unchecked the option "Open website URL first" or do you still have that option?

Please let us also know if the auto complete works correct now or are there still problems?

Best regards

It has been working since unchecking that option. With it on, it was very inconsistant. Thanks for your help!
