AceBackup 2.2
Project set to update older files only
All files are updated - this is using FTP/ encryption / and compression
With it being online - it slows it down considerably! I only want newer files to be backed up.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Unfortunately we have so far not been able to reproduce this problem here. What kind of files are you trying to back up?

Best regards

We backup a lot of Quickbook files (though it replaces all files). Note that I am running this manually by going straight to Process->Backup. No verify or anything.

Hello,
we are sorry because we do not know what quickbook files are used for. Does AceBackup backup only newer files when you want to backup other file types? Are these quickbook files used by any program between two backups?

Kind Regards
Marco

Happens on all files. Whenever I manually initiate a backup, it backs EVERYTHING up even if the file has not changed (and Update Newer Files Only is selected).

New User:
I have an external hard drive designated to receive backup copies of files from 3 other drives totaling approximately 800GB of data. As a result it takes considerable amount of time to perform the backup operation. I only want files that are new or files that have been changed to be backed up. Is there a setting to operate like this?

Example:
File 1: Family Picture (May have 1000s of these but they never change so once they have been backed up to new external hard drive I have no reason to replace them with a exact copy. It just takes time and serves no purpose.)

Quickbooks I understand has a built in backup program.
Does it also replace all files?

Maybe Quickbooks updates all its data files every day .. so this might be the reason Acebackups replaces all files.
