When I try to upload a zip file, it does not seem to be working. A new directory with the folder name of the zip file appears with no content, and even if I type in the url for that directory to try and view what has occurred, I get the message:

"Error 403 - Forbidden
You tried to access a document for which you don't have privileges."

How can I upload a zip file into my root directory so that it is accessible to anyone that types in the url, or can be accessed through a link on another page for downloading?

I want to be able to create a url that follows the example http://www.domain.com/myzipfile.zip

or even put it in another directory so the url would be more like http://www.domain.com/zipfiles/myzipfile.zip

I am using the latest free version of Wise-FTP and my host is 1&1.

please make sure you have given the correct privileges to folder and/or file, you can do this by right clicking the file or directory and select "properties".
