Hello,

This no doubt will sound odd but here goes.

When I am using Password Depot Version 3 build 3.1.2.0 my cusor changes from the usual pointer to the hour glass. I have to go back into mouse settings in my windows xp pro and change it back.

Anyone???

Thanks

Croc

Hello,

This is very strange - does this error appear when you start up password depot? Or maybe later? Is this problem gone when you exit password depot? What other software is running in the background of your computer? Are you using any kind of themes for your windows?

I have a new installation of windows xp pro with no changes or tweaks. I generally have a number of things running like virus software, MSN, MS Outlook.

The one thing I know for sure is this problem is only present when PD is running. I do not have to open PD for this to happen, it can already be running in the tray but I only see the problem when accessing a site through PD.

When I use the "bolt" and go to a url and then click the hour glass comes on as it often will while waiting for a process to complete. However, after the page loads the hour glass stays as the pointer until I go to my mouse settings and change it back.

Thanks

Hello,

Alright, thanks a lot for your description of the problem. Does the error still occur with version 3.1.3.0 of Password Depot? You can use the "Update-Manager" in the "File" menu for updating to the most current version.

Hello

There is still an issue after updating to the latest version.

If I use the url icon and then drag the user name and then drag the password I do not encounter the problem. However, if I use the bolt icon the problem is present most times - especially when I login to sites that us ssl's like banks. I also tried it with my gmail account. 3 times using the bolt icon and all 3 times it turned in the hour glass and stayed that way until I manually changed it. When I used the url icon and dragged the user name and password it worked great.

Thanks

Hello,

Does the error still occur in most current version 3.1.5.0? If yes, please send us some links to websites where this is a problem. Have you tried different browsers, or do you only use the Internet Explorer? (What version?)

Hello,

Can you please send us some links to websites where this error occurs? Please try to insert the User/Password data in some empty text file on your computer (maybe a .doc or .txt file) via the auto complete function (yellow bolt). Does the cursor change to the hourglass here as well? Is this a full hourglass or only a small one on the side of the normal cursor?
When using the auto complete function : Does the cursor at first transform to a cursor with a little yellow bolt on its right side?
What screen resolution do you use?

@ kkanst : Do you use Windows XP as well? Are you working with admin rights or in a restricted user account?

Wondering if anyone has been able to duplicate or resolve this issue. This is a pain. Using Password Depot and not being able to do the auto login without my cusor changing sucks. Dang thing stays that way after that until I log in to my mouse settigns and change it back.

Remember this happens only when I use the bolt icon and happens most times but not all. When I use the gobe with the arrow and then drag the user name and password I have not issue.

I look forwad to a resolution.

Thanks

Hello,

Can you please tell us what mouse you are using? Have you installed any special drivers from the manufacturer for the mouse or are you using the windows standard ones? Do you maybe have a second computer with an other mouse that you can use for a short test?

Unfortunatelly we con not provide you with a good solution. It looks like this problem is connected with a specific characteristic of your mouse. It does not fire a needed event, which would "tell" Password Depot that it must change the cursor shape back.

The same think has happened to me. I am not using any special mouse drivers. Probably 1 out of every 10 times I use Password Depot to auto-complete a login it screws up my cursor. It looks like the software changes whatever cursor it is on to a lightening bolt, if the cursor it was on before the lightening bolt wasn't the regular cursor, it would make the icon the regular cursor when switching off of the lightening bolt. Sometimes my cursor goes to a window resize cursor, sometimes an hour glass. The only way to fix it without rebooting is to go to the mouse properties, "pointers" tab, and click "ok" to remind the system that the arrow is the regular cursor.

My guess is the code just remembers what ever cursor is active immediately before the lightening bolt is shown, then assumes that the one remembered was the regular cursor (this would be why it only happens occasionally). It would be nice if the software would just check the mouse properties for the regular cursor.
