Hi @ all. I just want to ask what "Erase external files..." does in comparison to a normal deletion?

Hello,

when deleting a file using the normal way of Windows the file is not deleted on your volume. It just gets removed out of the MFT (Master File Table; similar to an index of contents) and Windows is allowed to overwrite this file. When selecting "Erase external files..." in Password Depot, the file gets removed out of the MFT and the position where the file on the drive was will be overwritten with nulls. So it gets more difficult to recover this file.
