Error 32

Hello,

Can AceBackup back up files which have been opening on the computer?

When I do that, I've the following error:
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process ; error 32

What can I do?

Hello,

most of files can be backed up when they are in use. However, some programs (for example MS Outlook with a .pst file) open files with "exclusive" flag, so other programs cannot access the files, even to read.

Which kind of files do you want to backup?

Thank you for your fast answer.

There are a lot of files that I can not back up :
- .log
- .txt
- .fp7 (Filemaker)
- databases mySQL (.err / .index / .MYI / .MYD / other ones without extensions)

Hello,

unfortunately it is not always possible to backup files which are in use. When a program or process opens a file in "exclusive" mode, other programs cannot access the file until the first program releases it. So, only closing other programs or stopping processes might resolve the problem.
