File Deletion from a Backup

Postby Piphel » Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:11 am

Hi, Acebackup generally works well and seems to be the perfect backup solution for me too but I have a small query.

When opening a project it knows that files have changed and offers to start the project backup. That's good. Then, if accepted, it goes ahead and backs up the changed files to the designated network location. That's good. However, if folders have been renamed and or files moved to other locations or deleted within the project fileset, it doesn't seem to remove the surplus files - it just seems to create them again in their new locations and doesn't delete any.

Is this intended? I expected to end up with just an exact image of the currect folders and files. Should I expect it to synchronise everything?

Thanks

This seems to be a shortcoming of the software. I'm not sure how that has made it to version 3 without being addressed. Possibly the behavior is different when using the proprietary storage method instead of "as-is"?

would any AceBIT programmer care to address this???
