FTP Connection Hangs when connecting to my site
Hi,
I have a website on a server which i updtae using FTP. In the past, i simply connected & went into a folder called 'HTDOCS' & uploaded my files.
BUT recently, i reformated my machine & re-installed my FTP software and now when i connect to my site using FTP the software hangs. I can get connection to the site & i can access some folders on the site but when i click on the HTDOCS folder, the ftp software hangs & does not show the content of the HTDOCS folder. If there was aconnection problem then i would not be able to go into any folders but i can access some folders but not the main one (HTDOCS). This seems strange.
I have tried a couple of different FTP software but its the same with both. I tried disabling my firewalls but still no difference. I tried with & without passive mode but no luck there.
I connect to the internet usinga router which has a firewall but i did try disabling that too & still no difference.
More strangely, on a few occassions, i was able to upload files to the HTDOCS location even though i couldn't view the content. So i copied some of the images i needed to the folder & i could then see them live on my website.
I also tried to contact the customer support of the company which runs the servers that i use for my website hosting but the gyuy there found no problems and could connect to my HTDOCS folder everytime. He suggested that the problem is likely onmy side but i can't seem to find a problem.
But i still can't access the folder with the FTP connection. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks,
Shuja

Re: FTP Connection Hangs when connecting to my site
Hello!
It might be possible that you do not have the rights to read the content of the folder. Please rightclick on the folder in Wise-FTP and select the properties. At the tab "Advanced" you should tick "Read" for every kind of user. Another option which may help is connecting using SFTP protocol. You could change the connection type at the Site Manager.
Kind Regards
Marco
