I keep getting lots of error messages from Wide-FTP Scheduler. They're in German, which sadly is of no use to me.

Worse yet, I've never actually used the scheduler! I have used Wise-FTP with 1and1.

The basic and most common error message is a streaming error message I get at start-up.

The other message I get, which is actually a more genuine problem is sometimes when I attempt to shut down, I'm not allowed as 'FTP-scheduler is awaiting a response from me'. As I've said, I've never used the scheduler.

I went into the program itself and it kept leaping error messages at me. It was actually difficult to get into the basic menus, as I had about half a second between clicking 'OK' on the error message and the appearance of the next error message. I finally asked it to stop FTP-scheduler, which was followed, naturally enough, by an error message.

And, as my computer constantly thinks the scheduler is running, I can't even delete the .exe file, as it is 'in use'.

Any thoughts or commiserations would be most welcome.

The error message I get at trying to close initially is:

Zugriffsvertletzung bei adresse 004CEFEI in modul 'WF_Scheduler.exe'. Lesen von adresse 00B00007.

The final integer changes every time.

This is becoming quite annoying as I have to babysit my computer every time I need to shut down as I need to give an End Now command to WFP scheduler.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hello,

if you never use the scheduler, the easiest solution to this issue is to disable it.

Please rightclick the Wise icon in your system tray and choose options. In the following dialogue, please disable the checkbox "Run at windows startup" and hit save.

At the next reboot, the scheduler should not start anymore.

If I go to the Options screen, the 'Run Scheduler at Startup' box is NOT ticked. If I try any command, I get the aforementioned 'Zogriff... etc' error.

So, it would seem that I am nto able to disable a function that the Scheduler thinks it's not even using.

My computer thinks that the scheduler is running (and actually the scheduler agrees when I go in and gives me the aforementioned error message if I try to stop it). The problem is that on some level it thinks it's not doing anything, and there is no information in the scheduling queue.

I'm deeply confused.

Hello,

there are 2-3 more ways to disable the automatic start of the scheduler here. Please press "Start" -> "Run" and enter "msconfig"
In the appearing new window go to the Tab "Systemstart" (its the one on the far right side). You should see an entry named "WF_Scheduler" or "WF_TP" depending on what version you are using. Disable the checkbox in front of this entry and press ok. At the next startup you will get a warning message which can be disabled as well. Now the scheduler should not be started any more on window startup.

Thanks very much. I have yet to test it out, but I suspect that will do the trick.
