(I think this posted on the German forum, so here it is again)

Hello, I've seen this question and others like it multiple time on the forum but haven't found an answer which works for me. So here goes:

I downloaded and installed Hello Engines! Professional 4.1.7.0 from 1and1.com. I have windows XP with the firewall turned off. When I try to Unlock the program with the supplied unlock code (I've followed step by step instructions, on the forum and on the 1and1 site - so I know I'm putting the code in the right spot) it just freezes while displaying "please wait".

The program also cannot connect to the Site Analyzer. And when I try to submit my data automatically I always get the "-1 Connection Aborted on Request".

So, Hello Engines! is not able to connect to the internet even though I have disabled my firewall. Please tell me how I can fix this problem.

Thanks,
-bryan

Hello,

Are you using a second Softwarefirewall, or maybe a Hardwarefirewall? What Antivirussoftware do you use? Do you use a Router or Proxy Server to connect your PC to the internet?

I have norton antivirus professional 2003, but I don't think it has a buildin firewall. I didn't configure a router or proxy server to connect to the internet. I'm on a campus network and called the tech support and they said that their built-in firewall shouldn't be stopping the traffic.

I have plenty of other software which connects to the 'net and have never had this problem before.

Thanks for your time,
-bryan

Hello,

Can you run the integrated update manager please? You can find it in the "File" menue. After this you should have program version 4.1.11 and database version 2.1.0. You can check this in the "Help" -> "About.." menue. If you cant start the update manager because of your trial version, please deinstall the software and install the most current version from here:

http://www.download-helloengines.com/profi/HE41PRO.exe

Maybe this allready solves your problem.

Hello,

I installed the most current version on a different computer and everything worked perfectly. Either it was the version on my old computer or local settings with my old computer itself. Nontheless everything is working and I thank you for your help.

I hope all things in the future go well,
-bryan
