Hi,

the main configuration file is store by defalut in "..../user/my documents folder". However this is not always the most desirable location.

In my case this folder correspond to a network driver that is not always on. This means that if I work offline from the network my PD2 loose all the configuration and ask again for creating a new PD file.

I understand that "working folders" can be changed of location but this will not apply to configuration ini.

Is there a way around this problem?

Thanks
Fax

one possible solution for this is that under the main pd2 windows, choose 'TOOLS' - 'INSTALLATION WIZARD' which will guide u install pd2 to a USB flash drive. if you dont have any USB flash drive attached to your computer, the pd2 will list all ur HDDs instead. simply follow the wizard and install pd2 to ur USB flash drive or one of ur HDDs (e.g. M:\). then copy the whole folder 'M:\acebit' to your favourite destination (e.g. D:\Personal\) & create a shurtcut for it (optional) by urself. Then run the 'new' pd2 and u will see all the configuration files are now stored in ur 'new' pd2 folder.

I am just a pd2 fan, this is not an official solution and i cannot guarantee it works for u. Anyway, it works fine on my computer.

Hi Jixu,

YES, I just discovered that! If installed into a USB device the configuration ini is correctly placed in the PD2 folder....

I will try as suggested but without the USB pendrive connected!

Thanks,

Well, it was a bit more elaborated than that...

First I have tried to install to HD but was no go... stilll ini file created in the wrong place. Than I adopted a more radical solution. First install a copy through the wizard on a USB pendrive than removed all traces of PD2 on HD. Copying the USB version and change the ini file to right directories...

Not very userfriendly but it worked.

Hello,

thanks for the info (and all the other info you sent us)! We will forward all this to our developers so they can find fixes for the problems.
