I cant backup open Outlook 2003 files

When I try and backup my Outlook 2003 e-mail I get errors
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (Code: 32)
I thought AceBackup could backup open files?
If not are there any commands I can run to close Outlook before a backup and restart afterwards?
