Locked Files, VSS, Windows Live Sync, Failure to Exclude
I won't join the dog pile regarding complaints about not handling locked files - but VSS is far from new and should be immediately implemented.
That said, I am a user of Windows Live Sync, which uses ".fsLockFile" for it's own processing. As long as the service is running, these files are locked. I don't need them backed up, so I attempted to exclude them using the exclusion list - no luck. I still end up with this:
Operation: Backup file "C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxxxxx\Documents\.fsLockFile"
Result: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (Code: 32)
i1420Daily - Volume #0 (\\Freenas\nas01\Backups\i1420) - Log ended: 4/27/2009 11:37:27 PM
The exclusion mask I set up is "*.fsLockFile".
Suggestions?
