Firts time here, and a complete newby with all this, sp patience please.
I have a hosting package with 1and1 and WISE FTP is part of the package. I'm simply trying to log in for the first time, and despite trying every combination, I've failed I go to import account, as per the manual. It then asks for customer number and password. I've tried customer number, account number and web address, all without any sucess. Has any kind soul any idea what I should be entering here. Repeated e-mails to 1and1 go unanswered, and I can't get anyone to answer the phone. It's like trying to contact the dead! If you are looking for hosting, avoid these, their support is non existent.
Thanks

Hello,

this error indicates that your FTP login informations (username and password) are wrong. Please contact your FTP Server provider, as we have no access to this informations.

Thanks Julian! Trying to contact 1and1 is impossible, thats why I tried here! I'm sure they could resolve my problem in seconds, but getting hold of them is a disgrace. I got a template from allwebco, and if I e-mail them, I get a reply within the hour. Two great examples of how it should be done, and how it shouldn't! :?

Hello,

we are really sorry, but it seems that in this case only 1&1 can help you :-(. But maybe there is some way on the 1&1 website (control center?) where you can reset your username/password or something like that without contacting 1&1!?
