I have a user with a laptop who is connected to the network at irregular intervals so scheduled backup would not be helpful.

I would like to create a Desktop Icon for him that kicks off a backup session to an FTP server so that he can manually start a backup when he's in the office with the minimum of fuss. Is it also possible to show some form of feedback that the backups happening and and indiaction of percentage complete?

Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay!
You can just create a new project for your user and save it on his laptop. The next time he is in the office and wants to make a backup, he can open the project in acebackup and execute/process it. All new files in the specified directories should be copied to your FTP then. This procedure should be very easy to remember for your user,
