Hi

I have created a project and can backup changed files OK but when a new file is added to a directory ACEBACKUP does not see it and back it up.

Do I have to manually add the new file to the project ?

I have the exact same problem. Existing files that match my file selection criteria are archived, but new ones added to the folders do not get archived This makes the product virtually useless since I cannot count on it to archive the files based on my selection criteria without manually going in and adding them to the project. Obviously that is totally impractical.

I'm running the most current version of AceBackup and I'm archiving to an FTP site.

Hello,

Just open your existing backup project and select it in the project section. (You can do this by clicking on the name of the project in the "Project Folder" section. Hit "Update" and all new files will appear.

This is not really a very practical solution and I would say a serious design flaw, if not a bug. The files in my folders change every day. To have to remember to manually go perform a refresh every day to be sure that new files that meet the selection criteria are backed up is just not acceptable. I purchased AceBackup because I wanted the FTP solution, but this just makes the software useless.

Please consider an enahncement or bug fix to address this serious issue. You must be able to count on your backup solutions to actually backup the data you specify without continuous manual intervention.

Thanks!

Hello,

If you want to run the backup automatically you can just create a task for it. Open your project properties and go to the "advanced" section. At the bottom of the window you can now create a new task which will automatically run your backup and update the files at a certain time.
