I upgraded to version 3 and installed it on my office PC running Windows XP Pro. Version 2 worked fine before the upgrade, but I uninstalled it prior to the upgrade. Now every time I start PWD 3, I get the following message:

"Warning. The specified module could not be found."

I can still get into the program, but when I try to create a new file I get the following message:

"Password Depot 3 Professional Version. Access violation at address 005F36F7 in module 'PasswordDepot.exe'. Read of address 00000057."

If I reopen the program and try to select "Open file" I get the following message:

"Password Depot 3 Professional Version. Access violation at address 0054738D in module 'PasswordDepot.exe'. Read of address 00000008."

To top it all off, no matter how I change the program's options nothing is saved - I have to start over the next time I open the program and go through the same error messages. What's going on? I've got the newest version installed so that's not an issue. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Hello,

it seems that an error occurs during the installation. We recommend to backup your *psw files and to uninstall the software. Please remove also the entries in the registry. After doing this, please reinstall PWD 3. Do the problems still occur?

Thanks for the reply. Apparently, I had some serious registry errors. I ran Registry Mechanic 6, which found several hundred "High Priority" errors, then when I rebooted the new PWD3 install opened and operated normally. I don't know which error or errors specifically caused my problem, but all is well now.
