I am having a problem I think. I uploaded my files and when I go to the site I only see
Index of/
with some files under it.

did I do something wrong? I am working on a new domain if that matters. Any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciate.

Do you have an index file?

Any website needs an index site (like index.html, index.htm or index.php if your server supports php scripting language). This Site is the very first site that is opened when someone visits your website.

Do I need to create this index file and if so how do I do that? I am sorry to be so green but I thought wise ftp did the whole thing. I just can't find anywhere to learn about this kind of stuff on the net without paying an arm and a leg and then getting taken by everyone who promises you the moon but gives you nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and I am sorry about the rant.

Hello,

the index.html is in most cases the start-html-page for your website where other html sites are linked on.

There are a lot of good HTML-Tutorials on the web like SELFHTML.

Wise-FTP is transferring your files to the server but it does not generate a whole website.
