program hangs using vista ultimate

Hi

has anyone had a problem using the program with vista ultimate? Whenever I open and then select a site then I get the "rotating circle" in vista and then it hangs until I use task manager.

I've posted to support just wondered if anyone else had had a problem

Hi

yes I'm using the latest version on Vista ultimate sp1, p4 3.2 with 4gb ram.

It seems asif it hangs when reading theremote directory

Just about to try a reinstall

Ok tried a re install first told to do an uninstall took 90 minutes the n started a reinstall so far it's been on "wiseftp is configuring your system for 60 minutes"

Is this because of vista ultimate or am I missing some thing?

My old wsftp worked fine

Hello,

regarding your problem with install/uninstall of Wise-FTP: normally this should not take more than 1-2 minutes, so we assume that this a system problem. For example there could be an antivirus monitor which slowdowns the system very much.

Regarding your problem that Wise-FTP crahes: do you have checked the option "read all directories at connect"?

Hi

I do not have the option checked for read all directories at startup.

As to anti virus/firewalls etc I have disabled them all.

It does work but it is so slow. I re installed wsftp to test that and it's as quick as before.

Any ideas?

we have worked through the complete database of problems with Wise-FTP and Windows Vista but we have not found any problems similar to yours. We believe that it must be a problem with your system but unfortunately we do not have any other ideas, although we would like to help you here. Maybe we have some other customers here who have similar problems?

Hi

Just ordered a new PC so I'll be installing that with a clean installation of vista next week. Hopefully that will solve all my problems.

I'm assuming there will be no problem with the activation?

Hi

spoke to Microsoft who of course denied any problems but a search on various internet sites revealed several mentions of a corruption/wrong version issue of windows installer causing the same problem I have.

Solution is only to install |Vistacertified software - fair enough I suppose.

When i install my new PC on Monday I'll watch out and see how it behaves

just an update,

it appears the problem was caused by "windows installer" which seems to have got corrupted during the upgrade to Vista.

A new installation of Vista and reinstallation of my software has cured all problems.
