AceBIT

I've installed the software and the first time that I tried to use it I had to get an activation key. I filled out all of the information but when I click on request activation key, the program locks up and is unresponsive. I have to use ctrl-alt-del to kill it or restart if that doesn't work and I notice that it is using between 95-100% of my CPU. I know that I don't need to set up any proxy settings. Can anyone help me with this?

We assume, that a firewall is blocking the program from connecting to the internet, or that not internet connection is available to WiseFTP. Have you already checked your firewall and set WiseFTP to "allowed" ?

I thought that I would pass on this little bit of information. I had an old firewall on my computer that I was not using (Zonealarm). Even though it was off, it still had some monitoring running. I removed the program and was able to activate with no problem.

Thanks for the information! Yes, some firewalls are still active in the background even when they are disabled (ZoneAlarm is one of them).
