Restore Help

Postby cartwright118 » Fri Jan 29, 2010 1:47 am

Hi guys,

Could someone help me please?

Recently had a computer problem, I have tried to restore my backup. But I don't have the project restore file...the .NSB file. I have all of the backup files themselves, and have tried to restore them using import. But it fails, it finds all my files and I select where to restore them to - it looks like its restoring them and creates all the folder structures but the files don't exist in the specified restore directory.

When I right click the archives folder, where the backup is stored it shows that files are in there and I can see them, but they all have a .nsz.000 extension.

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

I have exactly the same problem. Have you found an answer for this?
I'm panicking a bit here, I used acebackup for important work related files! I know I could try an unformat, but I have formated my disk some times now so I believe that wont work... Please help!

Same problem here. Any solutions? No project file. All my files have the .nsz.000 extension. Have tried messing around with the AceBackup Program but there doesn't seem to be a way to decompress these files without the project file.

Hello,

In order to import a project files without project files you need to point the directory where a folder named 'Archives' with .nsz files is located.

In case you don't have such a directory but only .nsz files, you may try the following workaround:
1) Create in Windows Explorer a dummy project folder, for example, G:\AceBackup\
2) Inside that folder create a folder Archives: G:\AceBackup\Archives\
3) Move all your .nsz files into G:\AceBackup\Archives\
4) Run Project -> Import Wizard and select in the Wizard:

Project Name: AceBackup
Path: G:\

Then the Wizard will automatically find all .nsz files and re-create a project file, which can be used for restoring.

Best regards
