Wise-ftp 5 fails to initiate on startup. I have Windows Vista.

An error message appears that reads 'Exception EOleSysError in module wf_tp.exe at 0007EE29. Error accessing the OLE Registry.'

Can anyone help please?

Hello,

so this error message appears after windows startup or when you try to open WiseFTP? Please run the program at least one time with admin rights, so that important settings can be made. You can do this for example by right clicking the WiseFTP executable wise_ftp.exe and select "Run as Admin..".

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Wise FTP tries to start up automatically when I boot the computer. Windows then gives up trying to load it and shows the error mesage describe in my last post.

I tried starting Wise FTP as an administrator. It started with no problems, but the next time I powered down and rebooted the same error appeared.

Hello,

alright, please do that again for the WiseFTP Task-Planer executable "wf_tp.exe", which is located in program directory as well. Does the Task-Planer start normal (see small icon in task bar near clock) and does the error still occur afterwards (on reboot)?

Hi,

Thanks - I did as instructed and WiseFTP Task-Planer started normally and produced its task-bar icon.

I rebooted and this time there was no error message.

It seems that the problem has been solved - many thanks.

Paul
