Hi,
I thought your product looked very interesting. It has all the features I'd need, and I really like the Top Bar. Unfortunately, the drag and drop or autofill capabilities seem to work ONLY with the IE browser. I've tried it with Opera 7 (which is my default) and Mozilla 1.61 (secondary) and neither autofill nor drag and drop work with either of these browsers. The only way to fill in the username and password in these cases is to copy and paste from the clipboard.

Do you have plans to add support for additional browsers?

I'm looking to replace Info Keep which I'm using currently with an alternate program which supports autofill capabilities. The other proggie I'm looking at does autofill fine in both Opera and Mozilla but it doesn't have the convenient Top Bar.

I'm hoping to make a decision shortly as I've got about a hundred entries to pull in and neither program I'm looking at supports that many until after it's registered. Since I don't use IE unless I"m forced to (which is very rarely nowadays), I really don't want to consider a program that is IE-specific.

Thank you for your consideration.

PS - I had a difficult time navigating this forum. Even though I selected English, the registration page was all in Dutch/German, as is this page to create a new entry.

Currently there is a problem with the Auto-Complete function and Opera 7, we will try to fix this as soon as possible.

Auto-Fill is working in the latest final realease of Mozilla 1.4.
Version 1.61 seems not to be a final release. For Beta versions of any browsers we can't gurantee a full support of the Auto-Complete functions.

We will take a look at the latest versions of Mozilla, too. If there is a problme on our side will will release an update.

Hello, and thanks for your reply.

When referring to Mozilla, I actually should've written Mozilla Firebird 0.61 (not 1.61) instead of simply Mozilla. As I'm sure you're aware, Firebird is a fully supported branch of Mozilla and likely to replace the standalone Mozilla client in the future. However, I can understand you're not supporting it yet since it is still officially a beta product. I've got Mozilla 1.4 here as well so I'll test and verify that it's working properly with that.

With regards to Opera 7 support, Opera 7 is what I use as my default browser. I'm currently using 7.20 b7, but I had first tested Password Depot under v7.11 and that didn't work either. So I'd be happy to help you out here with Opera testing if you need it.

I am certainly glad to see you're not living in a Micro$oft-centric world and that alternate browser compatibility is something you're actively working on. I'll continue to play with Password Depot to determine if it'll meet my needs.

(The one thing I'm currently having problems with is trying to get the import to work, even though the CSV file I'm trying to import from is following the format defined in the help file. I'll post back here in a separate thread if I can't work out the import issue.)

If there is any problem in Password Depot causing the problems in your browser we will fix ist.

If we got a new version we will send it to you, so you can check out it works with your browser on your system.

The import .csv file must look like this:

"Description";"Importance";"Password";"Last Modified DD.MM.YYYY";"Expire Date DD.MM.YYYY";"Loginname";"Login-URL or Application path";"Comment"

Okay I got the import to work now. Once I realized it required a semicolon as a delimiter instead of a comma, I did a global search and replace to change the commas to semicolons. However, it is a bit misleading since CSV stands for "comma separated values" so I assumed that it used commas like all the other CSV files I've worked with.

I tried Drag-and-Drop against Mozilla 1.4 and realized I could get it to work by clicking on the text field after dragging it. So I had to drag and drop to the text field it should be entered into, and then click once for the text to be entered. By doing this, I was able to get Drag-and-Drop functionality working in Netscape 7.1, Mozilla 1.4, and Mozilla Firebird 0.61. Oh and IE6 of course too, though I didn't have to give the extra click at the end to get it to fill in. (You may want to make a note in the help file about that extra required click on the text field to be filled in for all browsers other than IE. I ended up discovering it only by chance.)

Re AutoComplete... still cannot get that to work consistently in any browser other than IE. Did get it to work in Opera once, but only when using Password Depot in its regular windowed mode instead of from the TopBar.
