Recently setup a new install for a client.
No previous password lists. SO ALL IS FRESH

Version 3 of Password Depot Server Module installed onto a PC with a fixed IP address, setup all the users with their rights to the lists etc (Purchased a 6 user license and registration installation was just fine !)

On each additional PC setup Password Depot version 3.

It apprears that when the users login at their PC that PD goes ahead and 'creates' a new local copy that is the server version at its current state. Is that true ?

I am unsure how it then 'syncs' the changes to the server so that other users can see the changes that are made from the local 'copies' ?

Maybe I have the process altogether wrong. I love your product and have been using it for years as a single user.

This is my first 'shared' install and I really want to make sure:

---I have it right from a technical aspect
---Want to communicate to clients whether it is real-time or point in time the same as the server
---Troubleshoot as to when I think it is not behaving as expected

I found the manuals have very little written in them to descibe hoW the synchronization is performed or if there is anything that they need to do.

Thank you for your help with this !!!

Hello,

when a client connects to the server and opens a password file, it always receives the most current version from the server. A local copy of the password file is stored in the cache just in order that the client can continue working with the file if the server becomes unavailable.

At one moment only one client can use a password file in full-access mode, all other clients can use it in read-only mode. When a client with full-access mode changes passwords in a file and saves the file, it is uploaded to the server automatically.

Best regards
