I have two large databases that I zip with WinZip. I then setup two separate upload jobs in Task Planner 5.5.0. The jobs are set to start about 10 minutes after the zip process completes. When I check the jobs to see if they ran in the Task Planner it shows Error! If I run the job manually it completes the upload.

For a troubleshooting test I created another job in the Task Planner and set the upload time so I could see the results within minutes. That job started at the appointed time. All of the settings in that job are exactly the same as the failed one. Of course the file and file location are different.

I am using Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Wise-Ftp 5.5.0 and WinZip 10.

I will appreciate any input.

Ray

Hello,

so you set the task to look for the zip process and only to start when the process has ended? Have you tried to setup the jobs WITHOUT this option?

I set the start time for the upload in the task planner to be 10 minutes after the time WinZip completes its job. I did try other upload tasks and they completed. Is it possible that WinZip is leaving an open handle to the files it zips?

Hello,

Yes, that might be the problem here. You are sure that winzip has already finished the job at the time the task should start?

Yes, I am sure it is set to begin after WinZip completes.

Hello,

have you tried to increase the time between the zipping and the uploading of the files? As you already mentioned, perhaps Winzip has the specific files locked and Wise-FTP has no access.
