Hi
I have Wise-FTP 5. I have over 6 websites that I can access at present. but I cannot connect to my most recent website using Wist-FTP. The error I get is:
"Winsock Error 10053: Software caused connection abort. An established connectioon was aborted due to a data transmission time-out or protocol error. The time-out was possibly caused by a Firewall program."

As my other FTP Servers work ok then there must be something wrong with the website details or access to the website FTP server. I have used Traceroute to check that the website is ok and it is and I have used Frontpage to upload to the website without any problems.

Initially I made a mistake with 1. having Use General Proxy Configuration ticked. I have corrected that. I also found that one of the characters in my FTP password was wrong!

Next, I rechecked that the Server Address is correct and it was not! The "Server Address" is not supposed to be the "Server IP Address" but the "FTP Host Name"
problem solved!! Owing to wasting a whole morning on this I decided that it would useful to submit the post as being useful for others.

Incidentally, when setting up a new FTP Server uncheck "Hide" for the Password. When the connection works then I recheck "Hide"
