I've got a bit of a problem I am trying to use WISE-FTP 4 as suggested to transfer over my web site files from my hard drive, but whenever I go to File > Connect then click on Import and enter in my username and password and press Import again it says it is retrieving data for a milli second then stops and does nothing, I have repeated this process several times with the same result.

So for some reason it will not connect to my 1and1 server so I can transfer over the files.

Any help would be really appreciated, I have read on this forum that maybe I should connect to my 1and1 server manually but have no idea how to do this.

Hello,

in some cases retrieving the data automatically fails for some yet unknown reason. In this case, please enter your data manually. What you need from your provider is the hostname (servername) and your username and password for connecting to the FTP server. Usually you get this data from your provider or you can find it somewhere on their website in the customer center.
