I've got the professionnal version today and got the unlock code by email. But i don't know what to do with it cos' there's no item in freeware version to enter this unlock code. Please help me !

Please note that we changed the upgrade mechanism to Professional version.

Since version 1.6.0.12 (which was released 9th January 2004) you can enter an unlock code in order to upgrade the freeware to Profesional version.

Please download the latest version from our website and install it (uninstall of previous version is not needed). You obviously still have an older version.

Old customers of Professional version will receive these days a unlock code for the new version by email.

Same questions as before. I have just received the unlock code by e-mail but I don't know where to enter it.

Please note that I am behind a corporate firewall and the update manager never worked for me. If the activation process works via the same system than I am in trouble.

Please note that you can configure any firewall, before trying an activation.

The firewall is not under my control. Any activation should give the possibility of activating even if in absence of internet connection (see products like microsoft or symantec).

Still I have no clue how and where to insert the activation code.

Dear Support,

I finally found (reading the German Discussion Group) where to activate the software, but as I have suspected the activation application cannot get out the corporate firewall (actually two). All ports are blocked and port 80 (WEB) can be accessed with a login and password.

I cannot avoid the firewall and only (as far as I know) one application (Yahoo messenger) is able to tunnel all requests to port 80 triggering the appropiate login and password request.

The result is the I have purchased a software that I cannot use anymore, more scaring is that I cannot even access the password that I have created with the previsous version.

I urge you to find a solution to this problem and/or make available to older version of password depot enabling me to access to my PSW file.

I look forward to your prompt reaction.

Please note that the activation procedure just needs http web access. Usually this is allowed by all firewalls. You can even input your usernme and password if required.

Concerning accessing "old" password files: The new version does not have any problems in reading older password files. Only adding new passwords may be disabled if you did not activate your software and have more than 20 passwords.

Thank you for your clarification. Unfortunately, the firewall (with no proxy)IP is not fixed but variable according to a script that, for example, changes to every log-in. Using your HTTP requests (in password depot proxy settings) do no solve the problem. Fill-in the log-in and password in the appropriate spaces do not make it work.

The application for registering is not enough sophisticated to auto-detect the setting from IE (due to scripts). There are really few application that are able to do it. One is the Yahoo messenger.

I found extremely disappointed that there are no other means to get to work this software considering the fact that I have paid for it. You should device the system in order to be able to register even if in absence of a internet line, similar to the majority of software that are commercialised nowadays.

What should I do know with a unusable product I have paid for? Should piracy be a justification for making the software also unworkable for the persons they have paid it?

Just follow the instruction in the mail to unlock Password Depot.

I too am behind a corporate firewall that I cannot control. And it too will not allow me to activate using the key. I have sent my information to support@acebit.com but haven't received a response.

Would it be possible to have the file generated for me too?

Currently there is a problme in the proxy settings. We work on a solution and release an update ASAP.

To unlock Password Depot now, please send your unlock key to support@password-depot.com.

We will create a file for unlocking Password Depot for you.

We will also check why no answer to your E-Mail arrived you. We answer all E-Mail in 24 hours.
