Hi together,

the update from Version 3.1.6 (Professional) to the current version 3.2.2 is not working by using the Update-Manager.
The Update-Manager just tells me that I already have installed the most current version and no updates are available.

How can I use the Update-Manager for an update to version 3.2.2 ?

I don´t want to use the "normal" download version in order to avoid registration issues I had the last time when I upgraded from version 2.x to 3.x. Or is it harmless to the current installation and settings?

did you order Password Depot on our homepage or did you receive it from somewhere else? Normally there should be no problems regarding current settings when you download the latest version from our homepage here: http://www.password-depot.com/downloading.htm.

the first version (2.x) was downloaded from the homepage and afterwards upgraded to version 3.1.6 which was also downloaded from your homepage.

After this upgrade I had problems using the the registration key I already had received with version 2.x when registering the version 3.1.6 with the same key. Your support team send me an alternative registration key for using it after having upgrded. Could this be a reason?

The most current version 3.2.2 was not downloaded and installed yet .....

What else could be the reason for the malfunction of the Update-Manager?
What will be checked in detail when executing the Update-Manager?
Does it only check for new updates and download them or is there a full installation/update procedere included? What kind of advantages are combined with the Update-Manager?

regarding the unlock problem: it is normal that you cannot unlock version 3 with the unlock code for version 2 as this are two different programs. That is why you receive a new unlock code when ordering the upgrade.

If you are sure that you have the normal version from our website, you can download the most current version from the site.

The update manager just checks for new updates available and downloads the same install script as you can find on http://www.password-depot.com/downloading.htm. The advantage of the update manager is that it downloads the right edition, for example if you would have a special edition. After downloading the update can be installed as usual.

Update Manager always shows that all programs are up to date, although on the website a newer version is available.

which version of Password Depot are you using exactly (Help/About)? Did you have problems with the Update Manager before too?

It has never worked with whatever version. I am using PD since 2004, I think.

do you have any special version of Password Depot or did you order it on our homepage and also download it from there? Which version are you now using exactly?

If you have a registered version from our website, it is safe to download and install the new version from there as the registration/unlock information is not deleted during the update.
