Update mgr downloads and attempts to restart WISE-FTP to complete but never it never comes back up. When I start it manually, it is still version 5.5.2 .. Help? .. running VISTA .. first time tried to upgrade WISE-FTP under VISTA

Hello,

Please try to run WiseFTP for the update with admin rights (right mouseclick -> "Run as Admin...). Alternatively you can download the most current version from our website manually :

http://www.wise-ftp.com/download.htm

That worked. Thanks for the quick reply. I assumed I was the admin since I don't have to login .. oh, well, live and learn

Hello,

on Windows Vista even the normal administrator is restricted in some ways, this is called UAC (User Account Control).
