I am one of the ' stupid people' who abound on the computer,trying to figure out what the heck it's all about.

My question is....when I upload a file/folder or whatever how do I recall it on the Internet.

Example , I have uploaded a site www etc but when I enter my site in the address section all I get is a 'cannot find this file.'

Would someone out there help me (and no doubt others)to understand this upload/recall process.Also,how do I know that my upload was successful in the first place.

usually you "buy" webspace together with a domain from your provider. This provider then sends you data for accessing a FTP-server. This data has to be at least hostname, username and password. With this data you can connect to the server with WISE-FTP. What you should try first now is upload a file like "index.html" or "index.htm". When you access your domain with your provider, the content of this html-file should be displayed. Does this work? Unfortunately we have no access to your provider's server, so we can't check what's wrong. Maybe you should contact your provider, they will be able to tell you what's wrong.
