I have tried everything I can think of to connect to 1and1 via WISE FTP, with no luck! I keep getting this error:

! Connecting to mn12online.com...
! Unable to connect to mn12online.com! (500 Interrupted system call (Winsock error #10004))

I have never been able to connect since I have signed up with 1and1. They don't give me any help whatsover. All they can say is: " I tried and it worked for me".

Okay and that doesn't help me. Obviously something between my PC, anti virus, or ISP isn't allowing the ftp connection. Or I am just doing something wrong.

I know I have my username and password correct. So that isn't the issue. I completely disabled my 2005 norton antivirus and firewall. Still doesn't work.

I am using Cox high speed internet (cable). Does it have something to do with that? My PC doesn't connect to a couple of other things either, not just WISE FTP. It wont connect to "hp updates" or this game online called rpmworld and a couple other things that i can't think of right now. I can browse the internet fine though! So it has to be something with my PC or ISP!

Please help. This is very annoying!

Nevermind, I got it taken care of. All I had to do was add the program (wise FTP) to my "manual program control" in my firewall configurations!

Hello,

okay fine, what you could also try is just enable the "passive" mode of WISE-FTP. Depending on the firewall configuration, there are also cases where it only works with the passive mode disabled!

I've added WISE-FTP to my firewall exception and I used the Passive option but i still get the same error. What must I check for? Thanks.

Hello,

are you directly connected to the internet via a modem, or are you gaining access trough a router or proxy server? What firewall are you using exactly?
