I had several windows open when entering new user and password details into PD.
I then selected backup followed by lock.
After PD minimized to the systray, and I closed the open windows, I noticed PD had left a button on the taskbar.
Several clicks of the button re-opened PD without requesting my keyword. :x

What gives. :?: :!: :?:

There are two ways to minimize Password Depot to the Tray Bar.

1. Minimize

2. Lock

Only the Lock function requests the password at reopening Password Depot. The minimize function just minimize and does not lock PasswordDepot.

If you want to be asked for your master keyword after reopening Password Depot select "Lock" or activate the Auto-Lock function in Password Depots options.

  • If many windows are open
    (Wenn viele Fenster offen sind)
  • when I click the "LOCK",
    (wenn ich das Vorhängeschloß klicke,)
  • Password Depot is closed to the systray.
(Password Depot ist zum systray geschlossen.)
  • This is correct! :)
    (Dies ist richtig!) :)
  • BUT! :!:
    (ABER!) :!:
  • A button remains on the Taskbar. :? :?:
(Ein Knopf bleibt auf dem Taskbar.) :? :?:
  • If I click several times on the button,
(Wenn ich mehrere Zeiten auf dem Knopf klicke,)
  • Password Depot opens again
    (Password Depot öffnet wieder)
  • without asking again
    (ohne wieder zu fragen)
  • for a password.
    (Für ein Kennwort.)
  • This is forbidden!
    (Dies ist verboten! )

I forgot to mention  : Thank you very much for an otherwise excellent utility.

What version of Password Depot is in use on your system?

You can find the version number of Password Depot under

Help >> About...

We couldn't reproduce this problem on our testsystems. With this information we can try again to reproduce.

I am using version 1.6.0.1

This behaviour only occurs once after installation, but it can be repeated if Password Depot is un-installed then re-installed.

I must add that I may have been a bit hasty and appologise for being alarmist, as the Password Depot window that opens after clicking on the button that remains in the taskbar, does not contain any open password lists and a password needs to be re-entered in order to open any list.

I can supply a screen recording (captured by Camtasia) if it is of any interest to you.

Thanks.
