Wise FTP 5 program not opening with error message
C:\Program Files\AceBIT\WISE-FTP 5\wise_ftp.exe
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Software supplied as part of Fasthosts package. I have uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled it with no joy. I have done a restore on my computer. I have done a sfc/ scannow and scanned for spyware with no effect. I am the administrator running XP SP3 and I also set up another account and it still did not open. Is there a time limit on the software? I run a charity website for a brass band with this software and only use it once or twice a month. The Task Planner does not appear in the taskbar either.

Hello,
did you already try to download the .exe-file directly from our website?
You can find it here: http://www.wise-ftp.com/download/previous.htm

Thank you fro your reply. I checked that the program was not still installed in the Control Panel Add / Remove programs. I duly installed it from your link and unfortunately still get the same error message when trying to open the program. It does list under Programs from the Start Menu. I do occasionally run CCleaner, could that have done something to the original program and upset it?http://www.acebit.com/forum/posting.php?mode=reply&f=11&t=5224#http://www.acebit.com/forum/posting.php?mode=reply&f=11&t=5224#
