Uploads to 1&1 site fail

Post by Shanimal » August 20th, 2005, 11:43 pm

With version 3.0 I used to be able to upload to my 1&1 site without problems. Now when I attempt, it always fails. I upgraded to version 3.1.1 but all uploads continue to fail. Later attempts indicate that the file is already on the site at 0k, and I choose overwrite but it doesn't work. Thank you

Hello,

unfortunately we can'r reproduce this here. Does this happen for all files, or only for specific file, like for example only for large ones or something like that? Is there any error message in the log, and did you also try uploading to a different server than the one from 1&1?

Hello,

do you use any firewall on your system? Could you please try if the same happens when you disable the firewall for some seconds while you try uploading? Dies is make any difference if you enable or disable the "passive" mode for the connection?

Hello TheNostradamus,

did you add the Wise FTP program to the Windows XP SP2 firewall exception list? Could you please post an excerpt of your FTP logfile in which the error occurs?

I am getting the same problems uploading to my 1&1 website. I have placed WISE FTP as an exception on my Windoxs XP Firewall but still get the problem. I have also turned the firewall off on my router but still the problem persists. The only option I have is to upload files via the webfiles section on the 1&1 website. Not ideal. I would appreciate any help/ideas you may have to correct this problem. It does stem from when I installed my Linksys Wireless-G Router but I have double checked all settings and cannot find any problem with the settings. :?:

Hello,

unfortunately we are absolutely not sure why this happens. Could you please also send us the exact version number of the WISE-FTP you have installed? You can find this information in the Help -> About menu.

I thought the problem had been cured only to find the program is stalling again / locking up. I am now using version 3.1.1 and receive the following log info:

This is where the program locks up and goes no further. Do you have any ideas?

Hello,

does the internet connection still exists after such an "hang up"? Do you have similar problems with your internet connection in general, or only while using WISE-FTP? Does this issue occurs only at a specific FTP site?

Please send us a more comprehensive log with a short description via mail at support@acebit.com.

Re: Uploads to 1&1 site fail

Post by cvbt » October 2nd, 2009, 8:20 am

Hi!, I've used Wise-ftp for a few years now and this morning I begain getting "failed" notices immediately upon attempting to upload to 1&1. I upgraded to 3.1 and still got the same symptoms. I use Comodo firewall. I set it to 'allow all' and I still got the same symptoms. My internet connection still exists after a 'fail.' I have been having some general problems with my SMTP (slow speed, smtp errors) but they are mostly OK right now. Can you help me please. Thanks, Holy Harmonica in Thailand

i sent a screen shot of my log and the failed upload to acebit. they kindly replied;
'From the log you sent us, we can not see why the upload failed. Please
move it to the line, where the affected file is mentioned and resend it
again.

Best Regards
AceBIT Support Team'

i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. it found my previous settings so if something is wrong with the settings i would still have the problem. i will try again. i'll also check my 1 and 1 account.

my 1 and 1 account is paid in full. uninstalling including deleting the settings files and reinstalling did not change the symptoms. i double checked my firewall and tried uploading and downloading with 'allow all' set. downloads 'fail' too. i remember that i changed something with the microsoft windows security shield a week ago. i don't use their firewall. i looked at it and i think i just turned auto update the notifications off. are their any internet settings or other settings that could cause wise ftp not to function.
