WISE-FTP importing settings from previous version

Post by biscuid » July 14th, 2010, 11:49 pm

I had a similar problem as extreas who posted:
Post subject: Wise FTP 5 program not opening with error message

Having had the same problem, not having used the program for a couple of months, reloading software didn't help I have downloaded v6 instead. Is there any easy way to transfer all the settings that were saved in v5 which I cannot open to extract them.

Regards

Rich

Hello,

All the user FTP accounts are saved in the file wiseftpsrvs.bin.

In order to transfer the account information from one PC to another
PC, you need to copy the file from the WISE-FTP settings directory on
source PC to the WISE-FTP settings directory on target PC.

The location of the WISE-FTP settings directory depends on the operating
system and version of WISE-FTP used:

On Windows Vista/Windows 7:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\AceBIT\WISE-FTP N\

On English Windows NT/2000/XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\AceBIT\WISE-FTP N\

where N - is major version number of WISE-FTP (4, 5, or 6).

Users, who upgrade WISE-FTP from an older version to the newer one on
the same computer may import the accounts very easy with the command:
Site Manager -> Import -> from WISE-FTP
