Corrupted files

Post by qkjb » October 3rd, 2012, 8:15 pm

I am still running with PWD4 as it has served my purpose well. However of late it has taken to corrupting files when I use it to encrypt documents. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Today I lost a large and detailed document containing all my passwords for banks and building societies. Usually it tells me the file is corrupted, today it said the file maybe corrupted or the wrong password used. I have been using this password with PWD for a long time without any problems si I know it well but I can't afford the time lost when it destroys a document. I don't know why it has suddenly started doing this. Anyone any ideas?

Hi qkjb,

We have never heard about a similar problem, not even in version 4. Since you said the problem is new, the only thing we can recommend right now is to run a virus/malware scan.

Thanks for replying which I appreciate. I run anti virus software very regularly and nothing has shown up. As I said before it has been very reliable until recently. I had to start taking backup files so I have an uncorrupted version to go back to but because it has given me some real problems I have now stopped using it. I suspect the programme may have become corrupted.
