Bit confused about using PD on my iPad

I have installed the app on my iPad and have attached the iPad to my pc and through iTunes I have added the *.psw6 file. I can only seem to drop it in a folder called Dropbox. How can I now find the file in my app?

I do have Dropbox but there I can't seem to locate the file. So where is it?

Regards,

Martin

Martin,

PD integration with DropBox stores the PW file in the 'Apps' folder in Dropbox. If you use DB on your primary computer, just store/save your PW files in the \DropBox\Apps folder so you don't have to use iTunes at all. That's where I export my .pwsx mobile files for my iOS devices. I'm hoping they rewrite the iOS apps, as they are clunky to use.

Thank you, sperkinsCIO, for your explanation!

As to your hope for a rewriting of the apps: We always try to offer the best quality possible and will continue to improve the apps. This said, we're always happy to hear any suggestions for making the apps less "clunky"! :-)

Wow that was a very slow (non exsisting) response from support here. I am glad I am not on a time tbale here :| .

I thank you sperkinsCEO for YOUR help.

I will look into it.

Martin my feedback should be taken as constructive. Password Depot has been a leader in the Password maintenance space, but there are other vendors quickly biting at your heels both at the desktop and in the mobile space. I know of a former Password Depot champion (tech consultants in our Accounting industry) that have moved on to other vendors for password maintenance. I'm sticking with PWD for now for our 100 licenses.

The move to mobile browsing is not just here, it's been here and is now mature. We no longer boot up our computers at home as much. We grab our iPads to quickly look up something on the web. Mobile apps should now match the form and function of their desktop brethren, and I can honestly say as a PWD fan that the iOS apps fall far short of expectations in form and function.

Suggestions:
1. the iOS app should be able to use the desktop file format so I don't have to export a .pwsx to my \Dropbox\apps folder just for mobile usage.
2. PWD should store an offline copy of the latest file in Dropbox. Often I need a non-memorized password to attach to secure wireless somewhere and can't access the password since I'm not connected to the Internet. Catch-22 situation.
3. The interface should be completely reworked. Just try scrolling through a long list of passwords. I have hundreds. It's not smooth and not "Apple-like".

Thanks for allowing me to vent! I'm looking forward to V7 and a new iOS app.

Steve

Sorry I meant my previous post for Birke in AceBit support, not Martin.

Hi Steve,

We are happy to hear that you are a "PWD fan" - and therefore all the more concerned about the PWD app falling shourt of your expectations! So thank you very much for your suggestions. We have forwarded your ideas to our programming department. Let's see what the next app versions will bring! ;-)

By the way, speaking of Dropbox: PWD 7 will internally support Dropbox as well as GoogleDrive and Microsoft SkyDrive!
