Maximum size backup target

Post by bergtoys » October 2nd, 2012, 12:26 pm

Is it possible to specify a maximum for the backup target? For example. I have maximum 500 GB space available for my backups on my 1 TB disk. If the disk completely gets filled with backups, other applications will crash.

So, I want to limit the size of the backup target. Therefore old backups must be deleted when the max limit is reached.

Is that options available for Acebackup?

Regards,

Henk

Hello Henk,

We presently do not offer this option but we might try to incorporate it into the next version.

This is a pretty vital feature for anyone wanting to use the "versioning" functionality that sets AceBackup apart from other similar freeware.

How does AceBackup behave in "versioning" mode when it cannot write to target due to being out of diskspace? Does it throw an error or does it delete the oldest versions?

Thanks
