"Password Depot Server - Login " Query

Post by Arvin » January 31st, 2014, 2:41 am

Hi

I would like to use individual user accout while Connecting to the Password Depot Server.

i.e. not use the builtin admin accout/details.

Thanks.

Hi Arvin,

after you loged in as the admin you can:

a) Change the admin's credentials
b) Add file administrators

Both can be done in the "Users" tab.

The file administrator can log in to the control panel, add files to the server and configure the permissions for these files. The Server administrator can additionally give the file administrator permissions for further files from the server.
However a file administrator can't add or remove users and groups.

Thank you Stefan. So perhaps it would be best to use the builtin admin account for Password Depot Admin work.

Cheers,
Arvin

If you are the only person managing the Password Depot Server it would be the best solution, yes.

File admins make sense in situations where for example each department of a large organization needs to manage its own password files.
