Export pswx file from ver 6 fails on Android 2.3.6

Post by OneRingRules » September 28th, 2012, 6:37 pm

When exporting a file from Password depot ver 6 using the export to pswx file function it will not import into Android device running Android version 2.3.6

Could not open file.

Is this a known issue?

Also I have never been able to get the search function working either on other Android phones. It does not return any results. Will you be releasing any updates to the mobile platform?

The update of the Android version is already in work and will be released within the next days. In the meantime: Did you use Tools/Export/Export to pswx? Please note: "Save as" will NOT work.

I have updated the Android version from Google Play and as well today a new update to version 6.2.1

Export the pswx file per tools>export (don't use file save as) then try and load it gives an error :( on the Android of :
Error while opening :At line 1176, column 0:not well -formed(invalid token).

Can you advise possible issues here thanks.

This error message indicates that at least the header of your pswx file was demaged.

You can try to export your passwords file again into the pswx format (using the latest version of Password Depot) OR you try to fix the header as described in step 4) here:

I have now upgraded to PWD ver 7.02 (Nice on a PC)

New error on pswx file on Android ver 4.1.2 is

Error while opening : at line 1172
Column 0: not well-formed (invalid token)

I then completed step 4 as detailed on your special support page and replaced the header records. (It took around 5 or six minutes just to load the file up (800kb).

The new error AFTER editing the file is:

Error while opening : at line 1,column 2: not well-formed (invalid token)

I note that the special export to a pswx file is required and not save as.
Do you have any further advice on this issue. I also noticed that I could not find Password Depot in the Google Play Store. Has it been removed pending a new release?

Hi OneRingRules,

In Password Depot 7 were added several new fields which the Android version 4.1.2 may not be aware of. We are currently working on the new version of Password Depot for Android which will then be compatible with Password Depot 7.
