Where to put the .pswx file on the iPhone

Post by sperkinsCIO » November 15th, 2010, 5:22 am

Thanks for releasing an iPhone version. Can you shed some light on exactly where to put the .pswx file on the iPhone so that the app can see it and open it? I am using iPhone Explorer to copy the file, but there are a number of folders and you provided no directions on where to put it.

Thanks!

I've been waiting for this app a long time, but I'd like to know, too, how to move my password file from my pc to the iPhone app?

You can download a free program called iPhone Explorer that lets you copy files to the iPhone. http://www.macroplant.com/index.php

But it would be nice to know where to put the file. I'm not sure how they tested this enough to make it available on the App Store, if no one knows where to put the password file.

We just released 5.0.1, which offers you a synchronization using iTunes. It may take a few days until this update is approved by Apple.

It's been 2 1/2 weeks. What's the word on the new release? I can't even find PW Depot on itunes now.

Hello,

Because of a number of problems we have withdrawn the iPhone edition for now. We will re-release it as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

The iPhones Edition is now back in the AppStore. You can synchronize your pswx using iTunes.

The app is back and I've successfully synced my file to the phone! Thank you!

First suggestion: the icon to copy the items to the clipboard should be bigger. I am having a hard time consistently tapping it without going to the details of the item rather than copying to clipboard. All in all looks good though.

Exactly HOW do you get the .pswx file into the library and identify it to sync with the iPhone? Pretty frustrated here!

This issue with the iphone has cost your company credibility,
at least in my eyes.
It is so frustrating not to be able to open up my password
file. It will not accept my pc password.
I thought that the new version would have fixed it but it has not.
Why dont you put out a complete step by step instruction
sheet on how to transfer the password file from the pc to the iphone?
I would be pay for a proper program (as I have so much info inside
your otherwise excellent PC Password depot product), and I am sure many users would pay
for something that works. Obvioulsy, you have not paid much
attention to this, which diminishes your credibility in view of the huge
popularity of the iphone. I am still hoping.

Hello,

Thank you all for your feedback and sorry for the late reply!

How you will get your password file into the iPhone app:

Start iTunes

Connect the iPhone, go to the Apps tab and scroll until you reach the file sharing section. Select the PWD App and add the file on the right side.

Important note: The password file has to saved as a .pswx file before (via Save as...in the main program).

Best regards

I have have followed the process as you recommended.
When I try to open the password depot file
on my iPhone, it asks for my password, I
enter the password but it still comes
up with the message:

"Error occured while loading file
Check password"

Pls advise.

Thanks

I currently have Password Depot 6.0.6.0 on my PC and Password Depot 5.0.2 on my iPhone. I have no problem getting my iPhone to see the file as a .pswx file. However it doesn't accept my master password on my phone.
