Status of expected October release of iPad/iPhone versions

Post by sperkinsCIO » November 3rd, 2011, 11:58 pm

Hello, now that October has come and gone can you give us a status update on the new iphone/ipad versions of PD?

Some suggestions if you want to win the love of your users:

1. Have one version that works on both devices.
2. Allow integration with Dropbox, so we can store our password files in Dropbox and access from mutltiple computers and mobile devices. This works great on the PC. I store my password file in my Dropbox folder and have my work computer and home computer set to open the file from the Dropbox folder. So I can add new passwords to either one and they always stay synced! It would be fantastic if it worked this way on the iphone and ipad as well. Opening the pw file from within Dropbox opens Password Depot and away you go. Please do this! Every iOS user on this forum would want this!

Thanks,

Steve (CIO for a company with 100 licenses of PWDepot)

The silence from acebit is deafening here! as I use my iPad2 more and more I am struggling with the old mobile version of PWD. Please give us a development update on the iPad/iPhone version that was expected in October.

Thanks,

Steve

Agree.
The actual solution isn't feasible.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply from our side.

Unfortunately, there were some delays in the process, but we will now hurry to release a better working version.

Best regards

First of all we would like to say thank you to all customers and users of the iPhone edition for your patience!

The iPhone edition is just around the corner. There was a certain delay once more, but now we can see light at the end of the tunnel. The completely new development has lead to a number of problems, which were caused by the used compiler among other things.

These problems are now solved and we are glad to provide the first beta version.

We're talking about an iPad app coming at the same time right??? A true iPad app....not an iPhone app scaled to fit the iPad screen.

Both apps will be very similiar not to say identical, at least in the first builds.

There are a few minor things we need to improve, before we can release the official iPhone app. Currently we are working on a Dropbox integration and once this is done, we will release the app.

Good move Acebit. Dropbox integration is essential for keeping one pw file synced across multiple devices. Bravo

That would be awesome, indeed dropbox feature is very important! also if possible please look into the google drive integration too.
