Privacy Statement

AceBIT respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. You can access most pages of our website without having to submit any personal data. For certain transactions, however, we require personal details in order to provide you with the requested service. This document explains how this data is captured and used by AceBIT. The data protection policy laid down here applies to all online and offline content, products and services by AceBIT. Please read the entire data protection statement of AceBIT.

Collection of your personal data

No personal data is collected, unless we explicitly ask you to submit certain (personal) data, if this is required for identification or contact purposes. Generally, this information is requested upon registration, e.g. when you subscribe to an e-mail newsletter or a restricted premium site. Similarly, we need your details if you wish to participate in events and training sessions, or if you purchase an AceBIT product, or register as a user. In most cases, AceBIT collects only data such as your e-mail address, language, country and region. For certain services, we might need other details.

Example: You wish to subscribe to a fee-charging service or wish to process a payment for a product. In this case, we need some personal data, e.g. your name, address, telephone number and credit card number, in order to issue a correct invoice and dispatch the goods.

If you wish to purchase and install a new product, you might be requested to register electronically. These registration details are saved together with other data that you might have submitted during a previous visit to our website.

AceBIT also collects certain data on hardware and software features of your computer. Such information includes the IP address, browser, operating system, domain name, access times and references to other websites. This data is used for quality assurance purposes and the generation of general statistics regarding visits of our websites.

How we use your information

Your personal data enables us to:

  • ensure that our website meets your requirements
  • provide you with services (newsletter, events, training) and software products that you have explicitly asked for or purchased
  • compile and publish content that is of special relevance to you
  • inform you of available product updates, special offers, new AceBIT services, etc., provided you wish to receive such information
  • give you access to restricted sections of our website

From time to time, we outsource certain services etc. to other companies. Such services include packaging, posting and delivering products, answering customer queries regarding products and services, and handling bookings for events. In such cases, we provide the partner company only with the data it needs to provide the agreed service. The use of this data for any other purposes is explicitly prohibited under the contract with AceBIT.

AceBIT reserves the right to disclose your personal data to third parties, if this is required for one of the following reasons: (a) Compliance with legal obligations or warding off of claims made against AceBIT, (b) Protection of the property rights of AceBIT in connection with all AceBIT websites and (c) Urgent measures to be taken in order to protect the personal safety of AceBIT employees, users of AceBIT products or services and other persons.

Your data may be stored in Germany or a country where AceBIT, or any of its affiliated companies, subsidiaries or agents has registered offices. By visiting our websites, you accept that your data may be transferred across country borders.

Protection of your personal data

With the exception of the cases stated above, AceBIT shall not make information submitted by you upon registration, etc. available to a third party without your explicit consent. The data is used exclusively for the purposes mentioned above.

Security of your data

AceBIT is committed to protecting your personal data. For this reason, we use a number of different security technologies and procedures to safeguard the information against unauthorized access, misuse or unlawful publication. Your information is, for example, stored only on servers at protected sites, whereby only a few employees have access to the data. We use encryption methods, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.

Such information is important for the compilation of access statistics for our website. Site statistics data might be forwarded to partner companies. We do, however, not allow any other company to place clear GIFs on our website. Web beacons or clear GIF technology is not used in connection with access to your personal data.

If you have disabled cookies in your browser settings, you can view the text published on the AceBIT website, but you will have no access to personalized information. You will also be unable to subscribe to any of the services on offer.
